Features
The biofilm in MBBR is mainly fixed on the filler, and the sludge retention time has nothing to do with the hydraulic retention time. Microorganisms such as nitrifying bacteria and nitrosating bacteria that grow for a long time and have a small specific growth rate can grow on the filler, thereby enhancing Denitrification ability.
The denitrification process is divided into two stages, nitrification and denitrification, which are respectively completed by nitrifying bacteria and denitrifying bacteria. MBBR can realize the relatively independent growth of nitrifying bacteria and denitrifying bacteria in space, thereby optimizing the growth conditions of the two bacterial groups.
